Discovery of Suspicious Vessels

The MMEA patrol boat Perkasa 1227, while conducting operations in Perlis waters, identified three boats from a neighbouring country actively involved in the bamboo clam fishing. Despite attempts by some crew members to evade capture, MMEA personnel successfully detained all individuals and vessels.
Value of Detained Assets

The total value of the detained suspects and their three boats has been estimated at RM40,000. These assets were subsequently brought to the Kuala Perlis Maritime Zone Jetty for further investigation into the illegal activity.

Following the operation, the Kuala Perlis Maritime Zone director, Mohd Hashim Mat Zain, encouraged the public to report any instances of smuggling and maritime crimes.
