Management of Suicidal Behaviour Cases

The helpline has also been instrumental in addressing critical mental health situations, specifically handling 288 cases of suicidal behaviour. Within this category, 161 cases of suicidal ideation received direct interventions from the HEAL Line. A further 127 cases involving suicide attempts were escalated and referred to relevant health facilities for immediate and comprehensive medical treatment.

For individuals who have survived suicide attempts and have been discharged from medical facilities, the HEAL Line extends its support through regular follow-up calls. These calls are primarily conducted by psychology officers to monitor the ongoing treatment and recovery progress of these vulnerable individuals, ensuring continuous care beyond initial hospitalisation.
