This financial aid is specifically designed to help offset some of the initial costs associated with commencing studies at higher education institutions. The initiative aims to alleviate the financial pressure on families as their children embark on their tertiary education journeys.
Purpose of the Loan Advance Payment

The WPP initiative is intended to assist students in covering a portion of the upfront expenses incurred when enrolling in public higher education institutions and polytechnics. For the June 2026 intake, PTPTN has allocated RM60.1 million to support 40,099 new diploma students through this programme. This financial support is offered to Malaysian citizens who meet specific eligibility criteria, including having parents or guardians who are recipients of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) cash assistance.
Beneficiaries and Historical Allocation

Since its introduction in 1999, the WPP facility has benefited a substantial number of students. As of April 30, 2026, a total of 999,838 students have received assistance through this programme, with a cumulative allocation of RM1.48 billion. This demonstrates a long-standing commitment by PTPTN to facilitate access to higher education for students from various socioeconomic backgrounds.
Redemption and Validity Period

Eligible students can ascertain their WPP offer status through the myPTPTN application. The redemption process for the advance payment can be completed at any Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) branch nationwide. To redeem the funds, students must present their WPP offer letter and their MyKad. The validity period for redeeming the WPP is set at two months, commencing from June 10 and concluding on August 9.
