The permit is valid for two years, allowing for multiple entries within that period, provided each stay does not exceed six months.
Application Process and Cost

Obtaining an ETA involves an online application, which can be completed via a smartphone app or the government website, typically taking about 10 minutes. Applicants are required to submit a photograph of their passport and a facial image. Initially, the application fee is £10 (approximately 12 euros), but this price is set to increase to £16 from April 9. While most decisions are rendered within minutes, applicants are advised to allow up to three working days for the approval process.
Roll-out and Affected Nationalities

The ETA scheme, which was first implemented for Qatar in 2023 and subsequently expanded to numerous other countries, is now being mandated for European nationals from April 2.
