A total of 612 Malaysian athletes have been registered by the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) for the upcoming Hanoi SEA Games, scheduled to take place from May 12 to 23. This contingent includes 377 male athletes, constituting 62 per cent of the total, and 235 female athletes, making up 38 per cent.
Athlete Registration Categories

Of the 612 registered athletes, 226 fall under Category A, meaning their participation costs are fully borne by the OCM. The remaining 386 athletes are registered under Category B, where their participation costs will be refunded if they successfully win a medal at the Games.
Support Staff and Gender Breakdown

In addition to the athletes, Malaysia has registered 206 officials for the Hanoi SEA Games. Among these officials, 102 are designated under Category A and 104 under Category B. The male officials number 175, significantly outnumbering the 31 female officials.
Participation in Sports

The Malaysian contingent is set to compete in 37 out of the 40 sports offered at the Hanoi SEA Games. Notably, Malaysia will not be participating in the sports of handball, vovinam, and wrestling.
