The water depth at Sungai Pandan waterfall where two students drowned was three metres.

Two Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students drowned at the Sungai Pandan waterfall on April 22. Their bodies were discovered by search and rescue divers at the bottom of the waterfall at a depth of three metres.
Discovery of the bodies

The bodies of A. Sharvin Ananth, 23, and R. Goobi, 23, were found after they disappeared while swimming with a group of friends. Their friends alerted the police at 1.45pm when the two failed to resurface. Sharvin Ananth’s body was recovered at 3.13pm, followed by Goobi’s body 30 minutes later.
Search and rescue operations

Divers from the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department located the students' bodies at the base of the waterfall. The search and rescue operation involved 20 officers from the Water Rescue Team of the Taman Tas and Kuantan fire and rescue stations.
Post-mortem examination

Following the recovery, the bodies were transported to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The incident occurred during a swimming outing involving nine UMP students.
