During the same period, a total of 11,470 arrests were made for drug and substance abuse offences. These arrests were the result of 7,841 enforcement actions carried out by various agencies including the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, the Customs Department, and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) Sarawak. Of the total arrests, 564 were for drug peddling, 2,066 for possession, and 8,840 individuals tested positive for drug abuse.
Geographic and Demographic Distribution of Arrests

The district of Kuching recorded the highest number of arrests with 3,466 individuals, followed by Sibu with 1,280 and Miri with 1,277. Demographically, males constituted approximately 92.83 per cent of those arrested. The age distribution shows that the largest proportion of arrests, 22.96 per cent, were individuals aged between 25 and 29 years old, with other significant groups falling between 30-34 years and 19-24 years.
