New Measures to Enhance the PRE2020 Economic Stimulus Package

Financial Aid for Workers on No-Pay Leave

A significant new initiative provides a monthly aid of RM600 for workers who have been placed on mandatory no-pay leave, commencing from March 1, 2020. This support is designated for individuals earning no more than RM4,000 per month and is applicable for a maximum duration of six months, provided they are recipients of the Employment Insurance Scheme (EIS).
Support for Frontline and Public Service Workers

The enhanced PRE2020 also introduces specific financial incentives for essential service providers. Public transport workers will receive a one-off cash handout amounting to RM600. Furthermore, a monthly special allowance has been allocated to medical doctors and health workers, set at RM400, while immigration officers will receive an additional RM200 per month.
Increased Assistance for Small and Medium Enterprises

Recognising the impact on businesses, the government is injecting RM2 billion into a special assistance fund aimed at providing low-interest rate loans for SMEs. Complementing this, Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) will offer RM200 million in microcredit facilities, available at a competitive interest rate of 4 per cent, to support smaller enterprises.
