Eight face recognition machines, comprising four for inbound and four for outbound traffic, are being installed at border checkpoints. These machines will function similarly to the existing MyBorderPass system but will integrate with the MyNIISe app. Additionally, QR code facilities have been deployed at six entry and exit counters, with plans for expansion to all border counters.
Trial Period and System Integration

The Home Ministry (KDN) is currently conducting a trial of the new system at the Sultan Abu Bakar Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine Complex (CIQ) and the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI). This trial period, which began on September 22, will continue until February 28 next year. During this phase, both the QR code system and the current MyBorderPass app will remain operational to ensure a smooth transition.
Expansion to Motorcycle Counters

Following initial testing, the newly installed face recognition machines and QR code systems are slated for expansion to all motorcycle counters at both the Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ and the Sultan Iskandar Building. This phased rollout aims to progressively integrate the new technologies across all immigration processing points at these key entry and exit locations.
