Expertise in Key Sectors to be Shared

Nuklear Malaysia has identified specific domains where it possesses significant expertise and is ready to disseminate this knowledge. These include advancements and applications in nuclear technology for medical and healthcare purposes, such as diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy. Furthermore, the agency will share its experience in utilising nuclear technology for agricultural advancements, including crop improvement and food preservation techniques. The manufacturing of nuclear-related devices and equipment also forms a core area of shared expertise.
Contribution to National Nuclear Technology Policy

Beyond specific applications, Malaysia is also willing to share its experience in formulating and developing its National Nuclear Technology Policy 2030 (DTNN 2030). This policy, launched in September 2023, marks a significant milestone for Nuklear Malaysia, which has been established for 50 years. The implementation of DTNN 2030 is projected to contribute substantially to the national economy, with an estimated RM2.403 billion by 2030 and a projected annual growth of 10 per cent in the export value of local nuclear technology-related products.
Hosting Regional Nuclear Safety Research Meeting

As part of its commitment to regional cooperation, Nuklear Malaysia will host the 8th Annual Meeting of the Asean Network on Nuclear Power Safety Research (NPSR). This event, scheduled to take place in Malaysia for the first time since its inception in 2017, will serve as a platform for discussing achievements, implementing planned activities, addressing member states' needs, and strategising future annual activities. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit Malaysia's sole nuclear research reactor, the TRIGA PUSPATI Reactor, which has been operational since 1982.
Regional and International Recognition

Nuklear Malaysia holds significant regional and international recognition that underpins its capacity to share knowledge and resources. It has been designated as a Regional Training Centre (RTC), signifying its readiness to provide training and share resources with Asean countries. Furthermore, the agency has been acknowledged by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as an International Collaborative Centre (ICC) for the 2023-2027 period. This ICC status specifically covers development, research, and training in various nuclear science applications, reinforcing Malaysia's commitment to sharing its resources and expertise with fellow IAEA member states within Asean.
