These students were reported missing on August 11, having last been seen after receiving treatment at a health clinic. They were subsequently found four days later near Pasar Seni in Kuala Lumpur.

MARA chairman Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki indicated that the review considers the importance of allowing students opportunities to develop their maturity. He noted that MRSM students have historically been permitted to go into town once or twice a month, subject to specific conditions and without direct teacher supervision. The intention is to balance safety concerns with the need for students to gain independence.
Isolated Incident and Investigation

Datuk Asyraf Wajdi emphasized that the disappearance of the two students should be treated as an isolated case. He urged for space to be given to the police and the relevant institutions to complete their ongoing investigations into the matter. One of the students was reported to have suffered a panic attack and required hospitalisation after being found in a state of shock.
