Fahmi Zainol and Safwan Shamsuddin Received Suspensions and Fines

Student activist Fahmi Zainol was handed the most severe penalty, a two-semester suspension coupled with a RM600 fine. Safwan Shamsuddin, also an activist and the Pro-Mahasiswa chairman, faced a one-month suspension and a RM300 fine. Both were penalised for their roles in organising the talk.
Other Students Fined or Cautioned

In addition to Fahmi and Safwan, four other students were subjected to disciplinary measures. Haw Yu Hong, Adam Fistival Wilfred, and Khairul Anwar were issued fines, while Nur Syamimi Munirah also received a punishment. Khairol Najib Hashim, the president of UM’s Muslim Students Association, was given a strong caution.
Certain Charges Were Dropped Following Appeals

The disciplinary process saw some charges being dismissed. Abraham Au had the charges against him dropped at the time of the initial December decision. Subsequently, Khairul Anwar had his charges dropped this year after lodging an appeal with the university against the earlier ruling.
