Following the application period, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), through Esports Integrated (ESI), will announce the successful recipients on August 28. These recipients will then have from September to November 2025 to execute their proposed esports initiatives.
Fund Allocation and Scope

For 2025, the DEK has been allocated RM1.5 million, representing an increase of RM500,000 compared to the previous year. Since its inception in 2023, the fund has successfully supported over 80 grassroots esports initiatives across Malaysia. These initiatives encompass a range of activities, including tournament organisation, talent development programmes, digital content creation, and community-focused events.
Objectives and Support for Esports Ecosystem

The DEK aims to foster Malaysia's progressive esports landscape by encouraging creativity and confidence, aligning with the Malaysia Madani concept. Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim highlighted that the fund signifies KBS's trust and commitment to the esports sector's potential, striving to make sports, including esports, accessible to all through a collaborative, nationwide approach. To aid potential applicants, KBS, via ESI, will host engagement sessions to provide guidance on proposal development and the evaluation process.
