Malaysian Haj Pilgrims Commence Journey to Arafah

Malaysian Haj pilgrims began their movement from Mecca to Arafah in stages starting at 7am local time today. This significant journey precedes the Wukuf in Arafah, a pivotal ritual of the Haj pilgrimage scheduled for tomorrow, the 9th of Zulhijjah. A total of 31,600 Malaysian pilgrims are undertaking this spiritual undertaking.
Transportation Arrangements for Pilgrims

To facilitate the movement of pilgrims, a comprehensive transportation plan has been put in place. For Muassasah pilgrims, 21 buses have been allocated for each hostel accommodation to transport them to Arafah, a distance of approximately 22 kilometres from the Grand Mosque in Mecca. Additionally, 179 buses are designated for pilgrims travelling under the Pengelola Jemaah Haji (PJH) package.
Ensuring No Pilgrim is Left Behind

A dedicated team of 300 Haj personnel were dispatched earlier to Arafah to finalize preparations for the arrival of Malaysian pilgrims. Following the transfer of all pilgrims from Mecca to Arafah, Tabung Haji (TH) will conduct thorough room-to-room checks in all accommodation facilities and within the Grand Mosque to ensure that no individual has been overlooked. The TH operation room in Arafah commenced its activities at 4am today in anticipation of the pilgrims' arrival.
Special Provisions for Ailing Pilgrims

Pilgrims receiving medical attention at the TH Makkah Treatment Centre and the Saudi Arabian Hospital are not excluded from the Wukuf ritual. They will be transported to Arafah using six dedicated buses, accompanied by an ambulance unit, as part of the Wukuf Safari programme. This ensures that all pilgrims, regardless of their health status, can participate in this essential rite.
