The extended contracts for the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) Espirito Santo, operating offshore Brazil, will now expire in December 2028. This five-year extension was agreed upon by MISC Bhd’s joint-venture companies and Shell Brasil.
Five-Year Extension Secured

MISC Bhd announced that its joint-venture companies, Brazilian Deepwater Production Ltd (BDPL) and Brazilian Deepwater Production Contractors Ltd (BDPC), entered into an agreement with Shell Brasil on December 7, 2020. This agreement grants a five-year extension for the lease, operation, and maintenance contracts pertaining to the FPSO Espirito Santo.
Original Contracts and New Expiry Date

The initial contracts for the FPSO Espirito Santo were first established in 2006, with an original expiry date set for December 2023. The newly secured extension effectively pushes this expiry date back by five years, to December 2028.
Joint Venture Ownership Structure

BDPL and BDPC are joint ventures between SBM Holding Inc SA (SBM) and MISC Offshore Holdings Sdn Bhd (MOHB). SBM holds a 51 per cent equity stake in both companies, while MOHB owns the remaining 49 per cent equity in each.
