Civil Servants to Receive RM500 Special Aid on May 20

Civil servants in Grade 56 and below will receive a special Aidilfitri assistance of RM500, with the payment scheduled for May 20. Pensioners will also be provided with an aid of RM250. This special assistance is intended for employees who are still in service on the specified payment date.
Eligibility Criteria for Special Aid

The 2020 special assistance is designated for employees who are in service as of May 20. This includes staff holding permanent, temporary, and contract-based appointments. Furthermore, individuals on full-paid, half-paid, and even unpaid leave are eligible to receive this aid.
Extended Coverage for Specific Roles

The special aid will also encompass interim teachers and drivers who have been personally appointed by officers holding positions from Premier Grade B and above, or Special Grade A and above. This applies specifically to those who are eligible for driver services but have not been allocated a driver by their respective departments.
Additional Recipients of the Aid

Drivers who are personally appointed by Members of the Administration, Judges, and Judicial Commissioners will also receive this special assistance. This provision is based on entitlements outlined in the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) Act 1980 and the Judges’ Remuneration Act 1971.
