This includes verifying the compatibility and performance of the signalling system, which governs train movement and safety, as well as the platform screen doors that manage passenger access at stations.
Testing Timeline and Objectives

The testing regimen at the SRTC is expected to run until late 2025. Following the completion of tests at this dedicated facility, the RTS Link trains will proceed to service simulation trials. These trials will take place along the operational route between Woodlands North in Singapore and Bukit Chagar in Johor, with this phase scheduled to conclude in the third quarter of 2026, just prior to the anticipated opening of the RTS Link.
Train Specifications and Construction

The first four-car train, measuring 76.5 metres in length, has been unveiled. All eight RTS Link trains are being manufactured by China's CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive. Each train is designed to carry an optimal load of 607 passengers, with a maximum capacity of 1,087. Four additional trains are currently undergoing assembly at CRRC's facility in Batu Gajah, Perak, with the remaining three to follow.
