Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin to Return on July 4

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin of Selangor are scheduled to return to Malaysia on July 4, following their departure for the Holy Land to perform the Haj pilgrimage. The royal couple embarked on their journey from the Bunga Raya Complex at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on June 20.
Departure for Haj Pilgrimage

The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, departed for Saudi Arabia on June 20 to undertake the Haj. Their flight took off from KLIA at 3pm.
Entourage and Farewell

Accompanying the royal couple on this spiritual journey are state mufti Datuk Anhar Opir, Imam of Sultan Salahuddin Mosque Abdul Aziz Shah Abdul Karim Maaseng Al-Makki, and Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) Travel and Services manager Syahrimi Ilias. The Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, was present to see them off.
Previous Haj Experience and Current Pilgrimage

Sultan Sharafuddin previously performed the Haj in 2002. For the current Haj season, he is performing the pilgrimage alongside Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin. The Saudi Arabian government has announced Wukuf Day for June 27 and Aidiladha on June 28, with Muslims in Malaysia celebrating Aidiladha on June 29.
