The two major valve replacement operations at the Sungai Dua Water Treatment Plant have been successfully completed and are functioning as expected. Out of 22 other planned water works across Penang, only one remains ongoing, which is the Sungai Perai underwater pipeline, currently at 50 per cent completion. This indicates that the majority of the essential infrastructure work has been finalised, allowing for the gradual return of water to most consumers.
Mobilisation of Water Tankers

To mitigate the continued lack of water in affected areas, a total of 102 water tankers have been placed on standby at various locations throughout the state. These resources will be mobilised to deliver water directly to communities that are still experiencing dry taps, ensuring essential needs are met while the full restoration of the water supply network is completed.
