The expedition, focused on enhancing Bumiputera education levels, began its journey with its inaugural event at Sekolah Menengah Sains Bagan Datuk. This launch was attended by approximately 5,000 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) school leavers hailing from the Bagan Datuk, Teluk Intan, and Sabak Bernam areas.
Additional Funding Announced

During the launch event, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk, announced an additional allocation of RM1 million for the JPB 2018 initiative. This supplementary funding is intended to support more Malays and other Bumiputera individuals in pursuing higher education.
Nationwide Scope of the Programme

A total of 32 locations across the country have been designated for the JPB programme. Following its commencement in Bagan Datuk, the JPB squad's next scheduled stop is Batu Kurau in Larut.
