Personal Well-being Also a Key Factor

The survey also delved into personal circumstances, examining whether family life had improved over the preceding two years. Here too, Malays and other Bumiputeras reported the highest levels of negative sentiment or uncertainty, with 71 per cent answering negatively or being unsure. Indians reported 62 per cent negative or unsure responses, while Chinese respondents showed 57 per cent negative or unsure responses. This indicates that concerns about national direction and the economy were closely linked to perceptions of personal and familial well-being.
