Evacuation Centres Closed in Perak

Two evacuation centres in the Larut, Matang and Selama districts of Perak have been closed. These facilities, located at Dewan Batu 8 and Masjid Batu 8 in Changkat Jering, were shut down at 5pm.

The closure of these two locations in Changkat Jering allowed for 34 flood evacuees to return to their homes. The decision to close these centres was made following a period of heavy rainfall in the region.
Current Evacuee Numbers

Despite the closure of these facilities, 31 flood victims remain in temporary shelters. In the Kampar district, 15 individuals from five families are still at Dewan Tebing Tinggi, Malim Nawar. Additionally, 16 victims are being housed at PPS Sekolah Kebangsaan Changkat Ibol in the Larut, Matang and Selama districts.
Monitoring of Flood Situation

The Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and other agencies are continuing to monitor the ongoing situation. This includes surveillance of both the active evacuation centres and homes that have been affected by flooding. While rain has ceased in the Larut, Matang and Selama districts, it is still occurring in Kampar.
