Expected Traffic Volume
Anih Berhad anticipates a significant increase in vehicle numbers on these expressways during the festive period. An average of 245,000 vehicles per day are expected during peak periods, representing a 73.8 per cent rise. Over a 15-day period from June 18, more than 2.2 million vehicles are projected to use the KLK and LPT, a three per cent increase compared to the previous year's Aidilfitri.
Peak Traffic Flow Periods
Specific periods have been identified as having the highest traffic flow. For travel towards the east coast, peak traffic is expected between June 22 and June 24. Conversely, the return journey to Kuala Lumpur is anticipated to see peak traffic between June 27 and June 28, and again on July 1 and July 2.
Operational Measures for Festive Period
To ensure a comfortable journey for all road users, Anih Berhad has implemented several measures. This includes a 17 per cent increase in toll clerks, bringing the total to 272, to speed up both electronic and cash toll collections. Additionally, 121 traffic teams, comprising LPT-Patrol staff, highway policemen, Fire and Rescue Unit personnel, and Civil Defence Force members, will be on standby around the clock at strategic locations. Furthermore, 176 RELA personnel will be deployed at toll plazas and rest areas.
