The remains of the late Tan Sri Joseph Kurup arrived at Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 11:20 PM via a commercial flight. This arrival followed a delay from an initial 9:15 AM schedule due to airspace closures caused by ash clouds from Mount Ruang's volcanic eruption in Indonesia.
Funeral Arrangements

Following their arrival, the late Tan Sri Joseph Kurup's remains were transported to Fook Lu Siew Coffin Supplies Sdn Bhd on Jalan Tuaran in Kota Kinabalu. The premises will be open for the public and dignitaries to pay their last respects today, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Late Tan Sri Joseph Kurup's Legacy

Tan Sri Joseph Kurup, who passed away at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur at the age of 79, was the founder of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) and a former Sabah Deputy Chief Minister. He also served as the former Pensiangan Member of Parliament and held the position of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, focusing on Unity and National Integration. He retired from politics last year, having led PBRS as president since 1994, with his son Arthur taking over the party leadership.
