Allegations of Facilitating Specific Payments

The prosecution contends that Syed Amirul Syed Ahmad facilitated three distinct bribe payments to Saravanan from Tan Teck Lim, a director of Vectica Resources Sdn Bhd. The first alleged bribe, amounting to RM150,000 in cash, was purportedly received by Saravanan through Syed Amirul on June 16, 2022, at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resorts. This sum was allegedly an inducement for Saravanan to approve an application for 1,000 foreign-worker quotas for TYKB Engineering Sdn Bhd.
Further Facilitation for Reward

The second charge details an alleged RM350,000 cash payment from Tan to Saravanan, again through Syed Amirul, on July 7, 2022, at Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar. The prosecution claims this money was provided as a reward for Saravanan's approval of the same 1,000 foreign-worker quotas for TYKB Engineering. On the same day, a third alleged bribe of RM597,000 was reportedly paid by Tan to Saravanan via Syed Amirul.
Mechanism of the Third Bribe

This third alleged bribe was reportedly channelled through a Maybank Islamic cheque, number 273704, which was subsequently deposited into a Maybank Islamic account belonging to Big Seven Ventures Sdn Bhd at the Jalan Klang Lama branch. Similar to the previous charges, the prosecution asserts that this payment was also a reward for Saravanan approving TYKB Engineering’s application for 1,000 foreign-worker quotas. All three charges are framed under Section 16(a)(B) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
