Wetrom Bahanda stated that KDM's participation in the upcoming state election is not driven by personal ambition or the pursuit of wealth. Instead, the party aims to ensure that Sabah progresses alongside national development initiatives. He emphasised that KDM is a local party committed to representing all residents of Sabah, irrespective of their ethnicity or religious beliefs, and seeks to uphold the state's rights in accordance with the Malaysia Agreement 1963.
