The Bantuan Khas Covid-19 (BKC) cash aid is designed to provide financial support to households and individuals across the hardcore poor, B40 low-income, and M40 mid-income categories. Starting in August, the BKC programme is set to reach a significant number of recipients. A total of 11.4 million individuals will benefit from this aid. This figure is broken down into 8.4 million recipients from the B40 income group and three million from the M40 income group. The aid is structured to cover both family units and individuals, acknowledging different household compositions and circumstances.

Specifically, the BKC will extend assistance to five million households that fall within the B40 to M40 income brackets. Additionally, it will provide support to 6.4 million individuals. This latter group includes vulnerable demographics such as senior citizens and individuals who are not married, provided they are within the B40 and M40 income categories. The total allocation for this specific cash relief under the Pemulih package amounts to RM4.6 billion.
