Associate Professor Elmie Nekmat, aged 40, from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Ms Theodora Lai Xi Yi, 36, who serves as the chief strategy officer for the food website Burpple, and Mr Ling Weihong, 41, a private practice lawyer, have been appointed as the new PAP branch chairs. These individuals will assume leadership roles for Sengkang Central, Sengkang North, and Sengkang East, respectively.
Changes in Sengkang GRC Leadership

These new appointments see Mr Ng Chee Meng, Mr Amrin Amin, and Mr Raymond Lye departing from their previous roles within the Sengkang GRC branch structure. Dr Lam Pin Min, 53, remains a part of the PAP Sengkang GRC team and will continue to lead as the branch chair for Sengkang West.
Backgrounds of the New Appointees

Associate Professor Elmie Nekmat, an NUS Associate Professor of Communications and New Media, has been active in PAP grassroots work since 2016. Ms Theodora Lai has been a PAP activist since 2009 and is also the founder of Prep Junior, an educational mobile app. Mr Ling Weihong, a lawyer, has been involved with the PAP since 2015 and previously served as branch secretary for Sengkang Central.
