He will concurrently hold this acting position while continuing his current role as the director of Bukit Aman’s Special Branch. This transition follows the retirement of the previous DIGP, Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.

These included roles such as head of the Special Branch's counter-terrorism division, Johor police chief, director of Bukit Aman’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, and director of Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department.
