Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali Officially Welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid

Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, the Chief Secretary to the Government, officially welcomed Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on his first day as deputy prime minister at Perdana Putra. Ahmad Zahid commenced his official duties at the administrative heart of the Malaysian government on December 5.
Arrival at Perdana Putra

Ahmad Zahid arrived at the Perdana Putra compound at 8am, dressed in a black suit, to begin his official duties. He was greeted by Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali upon his arrival.
Commencement of Duties

Following the welcome, Ahmad Zahid proceeded to clock in at his office, located on Level 4 of Perdana Putra. This was followed by a recitation of doa, led by Kamruzaman Abdul Aziz, the assistant Islamic Affairs officer of the Prime Minister’s Department.
Official Appointment

The Bagan Datuk member of Parliament, Ahmad Zahid, aged 69, was appointed as deputy prime minister and concurrently as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the preceding Friday. He, along with 26 other Cabinet members, took their oaths of office before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, at Istana Negara on the Saturday prior.
Subsequent Engagements

Later on the same day, Ahmad Zahid was scheduled to attend a special Cabinet meeting chaired by the prime minister. Perdana Putra serves as the central hub for key administrative offices, including the Prime Minister’s Office, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Secretary to the Government. In the afternoon, he also clocked in at the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development to signify his commencement of duties in that capacity, attending a briefing by ministry officials.
