The overarching goal of this programme is to assist those impacted by the ongoing pandemic, irrespective of their background or political affiliation.
Previous Food Basket Assistance Initiatives

Prior to Bakul Prihatin Negara, substantial efforts were made through other government packages. Under the Malaysian Economic and Rakyat’s Protection Assistance Package (Permai), a total of 500,000 food baskets were distributed, involving an allocation of RM50 million. Furthermore, on July 1, the National People’s Well-being and Economic Recovery Package (Pemulih) allocated RM66.6 million specifically for Food Basket Assistance, with RM300,000 designated for each Member of Parliament.
Prime Minister's Outreach in Muar

As part of these efforts, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin visited the Sungai Raya Penghulu Complex in Muar, Johor. During this visit, he personally presented wet food donations and distributed Bakul Prihatin Negara aid to 50 village heads in the Pagoh and Muar areas. A total of 1,000 baskets were provided for distribution by these village heads and volunteers to the local community, supplementing the aid with fresh food items.
