Berthel Michael Iversen, known as BM Iversen, was born in Denmark but came to call Malaya home as an architect. He designed and built 38 cinemas and landmark buildings including the Federal House in Kuala Lumpur, the Veterinary Research Institute in Ipoh, and the Chinese Swimming Club in Penang, leaving architectural work across Ipoh, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, the Cameron Highlands, and Singapore. The book covers his life up to his death from cancer at age 70, and it was published by Areca Books.
