Undang Luak Sungei Ujong Appointment

Muhammad Faris Johari has been formally recognised as the Undang Luak Sungei Ujong. The DKU also noted that the position of Undang for Sungei Ujong became vacant after the previous holder, Datuk Seri Badarudin Abdul Khalid, was removed according to adat effective July 30, 2026. The process to appoint a successor to this position has not yet been completed.
Undang Luak Rembau Affirmation

Raja Hassan Ab Hamid’s appointment as the Undang Luak Rembau has been affirmed under adat by the DKU. This affirmation occurred during the same DKU sitting where other significant declarations regarding leadership titles in Negeri Sembilan were made.
Declarations Regarding Other Claimants

In addition to the formal recognitions, the DKU's sitting on July 31, 2026, also addressed individuals who had claimed the titles of Undang for Sungei Ujong, Rembau, and Jelebu. The council declared that Mubarak Thahak, Abdul Rahim Yasin, and Maarof Mat Rashad had either ceased to hold or never lawfully held their respective positions. Consequently, they possess no legal authority to exercise any powers under Article X of the state constitution.
Ruling on Jelebu and a Public Announcement

The council also accepted the unanimous decision of the Waris Berundang from Jelebu to dismiss Datuk Maarof Mat Rashad as the 16th Undang Luak Jelebu, effective May 31, 2023, due to alleged breaches of adat. All actions taken by him after this date are considered invalid. Furthermore, the DKU ruled that a public announcement dated April 19, 2026, was unconstitutional and in violation of Article X of the Negeri Sembilan Constitution, rendering it null and void.
