A substantial 85 per cent of Malaysian respondents indicated they turn to financial professionals and institutions for reassurance. This reliance on human interaction for reassurance underscores the importance of the human connection in building and maintaining trust within the financial advisory relationship.
Strategic Expertise and Judgment are Highly Valued

Beyond reassurance, 76 per cent of respondents expressed a high valuation of the strategic expertise provided by human professionals. This expertise is particularly crucial in areas where AI may fall short. Specifically, 31 per cent of investors cited the ability of human professionals to spot mistakes in AI-generated data as a key reason for their value. Furthermore, an equal proportion (31 per cent) appreciated the personalized interpretation of complex data, and 30 per cent valued the application of judgment and validation by human advisors.
A Partnership for Future Financial Decision-Making

While AI adoption is widespread, with 85 per cent of Malaysian affluent investors using it for finance, the future of financial decision-making is envisioned as a collaborative effort. More than half of respondents (58 per cent) prefer an ideal approach that involves a partnership between humans and AI. This perspective suggests that AI is seen as a tool to enhance efficiency and provide insights, while human professionals offer the critical layers of trust, nuanced understanding, and oversight necessary for navigating complex financial landscapes.
