Temporary Water Supply Disruption in Port Dickson Due to Installation Works

A temporary water supply disruption is scheduled for Port Dickson and parts of the Seremban district from January 7, 8 am, to January 8, 8 am. This interruption is necessary to facilitate the installation of a ‘Stop Log Guide’ at the Sungai Linggi Water Treatment Plant (LRA) inlet and the connection of new pipelines. These essential works are being undertaken by Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (SAINS) to improve future water supply quality.
Installation of Critical Components

The core reason for the water disruption is the commencement of significant infrastructure work. Specifically, SAINS will be installing a ‘Stop Log Guide’ at the inlet of the Sungai Linggi Water Treatment Plant. Concurrently, there will be work to connect three different sizes of pipes: 350 mm, 250 mm, and 150 mm. These pipe connections are to be made in front of the Bandar Ekar Rantau Mosque.
Affected Areas and Duration

The planned maintenance will impact the entire Port Dickson town and specific areas within the Seremban district. For Port Dickson, affected locations include Escort Estate, Kampung Sawah Sunggala, Bandar Sunggala, Taman Si Rusa Jaya Batu 6, Jalan Pantai, the entire area of Batu 5 Jalan Pantai, Kem Askar Batu 5 and Batu 4 Jalan Pantai, Kampung Baru Si Rusa, Jalan Sua Betong, Taman Desa Port Dickson, Kampung Barisan, the Air Kuning area up to Tampin Linggi, all Bagan Pinang villages, and surrounding vicinities. In Seremban, areas such as Taman Pinggiran Senawang, Sekolah Dato Abdul Razak, RTM, Ladang Batu 11, Kilang GMP, and the Senawang R&R Stop will experience the disruption.
Restoration Process and Contingencies

Water supply is expected to resume once the site work is fully completed. SAINS has indicated that the restoration will be carried out in phases. Consumers residing in higher elevated areas and those at the extremities of the distribution system may experience a longer waiting period for their water supply to be fully restored. Should the disruption extend beyond the initial 24-hour period, SAINS has stated that tanker delivery and static tank placement will be implemented to mitigate the impact on consumers.
