The rescue of Mohd Hanafi Neikmad, 41, at Gunung Batu Putih in Tapah depended on aircraft assistance because the team had to reach a victim found about one kilometre from the summit at around 2,000 metres above sea level. Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Sayani Saidon said that without aircraft support, the operation would have been much more difficult, given that the journey to the peak takes about 12 hours.
