Pig farms in Tanjong Sepat were forced to close after an eviction order was issued in February, because the remaining animals were not mature enough to be disposed of. Selangor Infrastructure and Agriculture Exco Datuk Izham Hashim said the closure is now in its final phase with about 30 farms still operating in various stages, involving 11,000 remaining animals. He also said no new piglets are being brought in, and all pigs will be slaughtered at the Rawang slaughterhouse as the process is carried out in stages.
