A survey conducted in Putrajaya revealed that the acceptance rate of e-wallets among traders at farmers’ and public markets has already reached 50 per cent. The ministry anticipates that through ongoing onboarding efforts, Putrajaya will achieve over 90 per cent e-wallet usage by the end of the current year.
Nationwide E-wallet Targets

Beyond Putrajaya, the ministry has set a broader target of encouraging 12,844 traders across 306 farmers’ and public markets nationwide to adopt e-wallet facilities. A specific goal for the current year is to ensure that 100 farmers’ and public markets are equipped to offer the e-wallet payment option.
