Nurul Izzah has been the Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai since 2008, marking a significant period of representation. Her initial victory in 2008 saw her unseat the three-term incumbent, Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who also held the position of Wanita Umno chief.
Previous Electoral Successes

In the subsequent general election in 2013, Nurul Izzah successfully defended her Lembah Pantai seat. Her opponent in that election was Datuk Seri Raja Nong Chik Zainal Abidin, the former Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing.
