PN and BN Have Not Officially Discussed Formalising Their Electoral Alliance Under a New Name

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has stated that there have been no official discussions regarding the formalisation of an electoral alliance between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) under a proposed new name, “Perikatan Barisan Nasional” (PBN). Sanusi indicated that he was personally unaware of this suggestion until recently and questioned the necessity of such a formalisation, given that both coalitions currently maintain their distinct identities.
No Formal Discussions Held on "PBN" Proposal

Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who also serves as PAS’s election director, explicitly dismissed any official discussions about formalising an electoral alliance between Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional into what has been termed “Perikatan Barisan Nasional” (PBN). He conveyed that the matter had not been deliberated at any level within the coalitions and that he had only recently become aware of the suggestion. Sanusi was speaking to reporters during a joint PN and BN rally in Jempol.
Proposal Originates from Parti Wawasan Negara President

The idea for the "PBN" label was reportedly put forward by Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, the President of Parti Wawasan Negara. Hamzah had suggested the name with the aim of streamlining the alliance's public image and mitigating potential voter confusion.
