These funds were purportedly channelled through Najib's AmIslamic Bank Berhad accounts into Muhammad Shafee's CIMB Bank Berhad accounts.

Conviction under this act can result in a fine not exceeding RM5 million, a prison sentence of up to five years, or both. Muhammad Shafee had initially pleaded not guilty to these charges on September 13, 2018.
